Birmingham leading the way for the UK’s Circular Economy

Published: 29th Oct 2025

Save the date - another UK summit is coming to Birmingham on 5th February 2026.

This time, it’s the Circular Economy UK Conference with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) serving as headline partner.

Being held at the International Convention Centre, it’s expected to draw in more than 300 delegates and 50 speakers, bringing together investors, innovators, manufacturers, and policymakers to explore how circular economy principles can drive economic growth, and attract investment to the region.

Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands and Chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority, said:

“Rethinking waste as a resource is vital for the future of our planet and our economy. This conference is a chance to show how this region is already leading the way and turning the circular economy into a driver of regional and national growth.”

As host of the conference, it’s a reflection of Birmingham’s growing appeal as a centre for green industry and circular innovation. With the wider WMCA already supporting over 150 businesses through its Resource Reuse Network, the city is positioning itself as a key destination for circular startups, green growth and sustainable manufacturing ventures.
