Birmingham to host UEFA Men’s EURO 2028

Birmingham’s onto a winner in the UEFA Men’s EURO 2028, with Villa Park confirmed to host four major matches. 

The city will be gearing up to welcome international fans, global media, and heightened attention as it showcases its status as a worldclass sporting destination. For Brummies far and wide, this is a moment of pride, putting this city front and centre on the international stage. 

It will also drive demand across hospitality, retail, and transport, while demonstrating Birmingham’s infrastructure, connectivity, and capacity to host major events. Part of the economic growth potential of the city is as a location for hosting major events, and the city council is actively pursuing securing these opportunities.  

There will be lasting improvements for residents too with upgraded amenities and enhanced public transport including train stations at Villa Park and Witton. The aim is for the tournament’s legacy to enrich the spirt of the city and reinforce civic pride. 

Looking ahead, the city is also poised to play a key role if it is selected to host matches for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2035.
