Major developments in Brum
HS2 developments

HS2 is set to hugely enhance transport connectivity and capacity for Birmingham.
Once open, it’ll put the city within 49 minutes of central London – a major attraction to investors to set up and locate in Birmingham. While at the heart of HS2 is the new Curzon Station, located right in Birmingham city centre. Here you’ll also find the 141 ha Curzon Gateway, a substantial development, part of the Enterprise Zone, with 30 more development opportunities supported by the Curzon masterplan.
Birmingham is also the chosen location for the HS2 network control centre at Washwood Heath, neighbour to Saltley Business Park. This is a 75.6 ha site providing significant commercial-led opportunity once the HS2 compound for the works has been removed.
Also under construction here is the HS2 depot, an integral part of the network that also falls under the wider Growth Zone of the 2023 WMCA Devolution Deal with a business rate retention for 25 years.
